Installing the rCAD Utilities

  • An MSI binary installer is available as part of the rCAD Utilities release.
  • If the .NET Framework 3.5, Service Pack 1 is not installed on the computer, you will be prompted to install it first before installing the rCAD Utilities.
  • The rCAD Utilities are available in 64-bit and 32-bit binaries, please install the appropriate version for your computer.
  • Installing
    • Double-click the rCAD Utilities MSI installer.

  • Follow the instructions in the installer to complete the installation.
  • Note: You will need administrator privileges to install the rCAD Utilities.

Program Layout

  • The Install Directory is at the Root Volume (e.g., C:\) in the path:
    • [Root Volume]\GutellLab\rCAD\Utilities
    • Program Binaries are in the Bin directory.
    • Configuration Files for the rCAD Creator Utility are in the rCADCreator directory.
    • Configuration and Output Files for the rCAD Taxonomy Updater Utility are in the TaxonomyUpdater directory.
    • Note: On uninstalling the rCAD Utilities, it may be necessary to manually delete the TaxonomyUpdater\Data directory.

Start Menu Shortcuts

  • All Programs
    • Gutell Lab => rCAD => Utilities
      • rCAD Taxonomy Updater
      • rCAD Alignment Loader
      • rCAD Instance Creator

Uninstalling the rCAD Utilites

  • Control Panel => Add/Remove Programs (Uninstall a Program on Windows 7) => rCAD Utilities
  • Note: On uninstalling the rCAD Utilities, it may be necessary to manually delete the TaxonomyUpdater\Data directory.
